  • Wood game board with felted corners underneath
  • 11 3/4" x 11 3/4" board
  • Go stones included
  • Instruction book with clear instructions included
Wood game board with felted corners underneath. Includes "Go" stones and instructions. 11 3/4" X 11 1/4" board.Go is probably one of the world's most intimidating games, one which conjures up images of players gleefully setting out for blood as they devise militaristic board moves. This complex exercise in strategy originated some 4,000 years ago in the East and has no direct Western counterpart. The game's playing surface is divided into 361 intersections. Players place stones on the corners of the squares, and the object is to surround the stones of their opponents. This edition's wooden game board is heavy, durable, and has an elegant blond veneer. The plastic stones are less impressive. The set comes with a first-rate! rule book: filled with diagrams, examples, and a useful recap section midway through the instructions, it'll make any novice good to Go. --Tony Mason

From producer Jennifer Lopez comes a danceable, dynamic story about the unifying power of the music within us all. When life in the South Bronx gets too hot for rapper Rob (Omarion Grandberry, You Got Served), he flees to Puerto Rico and a father he never knew. After half-brother Javi introduces Rob to the seductive rhythms of Reggaeton, the two find that their music, and cultures, have more in common than they ever ima! gined. But to bring their musical hybrid to the world, can they survive the grudges and gunplay that await them back in New York City? To find out, grab the disc, watch the film and Feel the Noise.Feel the Noise fits in with other dance-heavy films such as Stomp the Yard, Step Up, and You Got Served. The young hero in this film (which comes courtesy of Jennifer Lopez's Nuyorican Productions) serves up former B2K heartthrob Omarion Grandberry as Rob, a fledgling rapper who gets into trouble in New York. Fearing for her son's life, his mother ships him off to Puerto Rico to live with his father Roberto(Giancarlo Esposito) and half brother Javi (Victor Rasuk). Rob and Roberto have a strained relationship, but the two half-brothers quickly bond over their love of music. With the help of a girl Rob is sweet on, the two find themselves on the brink of a bonafide music career--that may bring Rob back to Harlem. Set against a backbeat of reggaeton! music (which combines elements of reggae, hip-hop, and salsa)! , the fi lm has its work cut out. The genre is little known to much of the film's demographics (teenagers), and Grandberry is likeable, but he's not a convincing leading man. His role requires simmering sexuality; he provides adorableness, but the moviegoer is never convinced that he is anything but a nice boy. Zulay Henao is lovely as Rob's sexy and sweet girlfriend, but the two actors don't share much chemistry. Lopez makes a blink-and-you-miss-it cameo near the end of the movie, which has one misstep too many to be anything more than a guilty pleasure. --Jae-Ha KimFrom producer Jennifer Lopez comes a danceable, dynamic story about the unifying power of the music within us all. A History of Violence [Blu-ray]

  • An average family is thrust into the spotlight after the father (Viggo Mortensen) commits a seemingly self-defense murder at his diner. Format: BLU-RAY DISC Genre: ACTION/ADVENTURE Rating: R Age: 883929037926 UPC: 883929037926 Manufacturer No: 1000042712
A new edition of the hard-hitting graphic novel that inspired the Academy Award-nominated 2005 motion picture starring Viggo Mortensen, Ed Harris and William Hurt.

In this suspenseful crime story, Tom McKenna is a family man who becomes an instant media celebrity when he thwarts a robbery at his own diner â€" a robbery attempted by wanted murderers. McKenna’s newfound fame draws the attention of a group of merciless mobsters who have been looking to settle a score with him for over 20 years. Now, as the killers descend upon his small town in Middle America, the Brooklyn native must face the actions of his youth and relive his past hi! story of violence as he attempts to salvage the life he has built and keep his family out of harm’s way.

An average family is thrust into the spotlight after the father (Viggo Mortensen) commits a seemingly self-defense murder at his diner. On the surface, David Cronenberg may seem an unlikely candidate to direct A History of Violence, but dig deeper and you'll see that he's the right man for the job. As an intellectual seeker of meaning and an avowed believer in Darwinian survival of the fittest, Cronenberg knows that the story of mild-mannered small-town diner proprietor Tom Stall (Viggo Mortensen) is in fact a multilayered examination of inbred human behavior, beginning when Tom's skillful killing of two would-be robbers draws unwanted attention to his idyllic family life in rural Indiana. He's got a loving wife (Maria Bello) and young daughter (Heidi Hayes) who are about to learn things about Tom they hadn't suspected, and a teenage son (Ashton Holmes) who ha! s inherited his father's most prominent survival trait, manife! sting it self in ways he never expected. By the time Tom has come into contact with a scarred villain (Ed Harris) and connections that lead him to a half-crazy kingpin (William Hurt, in a spectacular cameo), Cronenberg has plumbed the dark depths of human nature so skillfully that A History of Violence stands well above the graphic novel that inspired it (indeed, Cronenberg was unaware of the source material behind Josh Olson's chilling adaptation). With hard-hitting violence that's as sudden as it is graphically authentic, this is A History of Violence that's worthy of serious study and widespread acclaim. --Jeff Shannon

When Richard leaves the rural village where they have grown up to join the army, Anthony is taken in by Sonny (Gary Stretch), a controlling and vicious local drug dealer and his gang of lads. Anthony becomes the gang's pet and plaything. Seven years later, Richard returns to settle the score. Dead Man's Shoes is a genre-defying film blending horror, supernatural elements, comedy and social realism! . Set in a Midlands village, it explores the underbelly of contemporary rural Britain in communities where crime is unchecked and drugs, intimidation and power games are accepted as part of daily life.Harrowing thriller about a hotwired ex-soldier (co-scripter Paddy Considine from Cinderella Man) who returns to his sleepy Irish village to dole out merciless revenge upon the booze- and drug-sodden hoodlums who abused his mentally handicapped younger brother (the astonishing Toby Kebbel). Director Shane Meadows (Once Upon a Time in the Midlands) doesn't shy away from delivering scenes of gripping suspense and violence, but the end result hews closer to an ambiguous meditation on the nature and effect of vengeance a la Sam Peckinpah's Straw Dogs than a Death Wish-style grindhouse effort. Taut and thought-provoking, Dead Man's Shoes is a must-see for indie film aficionados with a taste for the grittiest of fare. The DVD includes some rollickin! g commentary by Meadows, Considine, and producer Mark Herbert;! an intr iguing and heartfelt featurette on Meadows and his own violent past as a teenage skinhead in 1980s England, from which he drew inspiration for this film; and an alternate (and somewhat less satisfying) final scene. -- Paul Gaita

After a much publicized departure from hosting NBC's "Tonight Show," Conan O'Brien hit the road with a 32-city music-and-comedy show. "The Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on Television Tour" was O'Brien's answer to a contractual stipulation that banned his appearance on television, radio and the internet for six months following his last show. Filmmaker Rodman Flender's resulting documentary, CONAN O'BRIEN CAN T STOP, is an intimate portrait of an artist trained in improvisation, captured at the most improvisational time of his career.Even if Conan O'Brien were "Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television"--the official name of the 2010 tour featured in the documentary Conan O'Brien Can't Stop, he'd happily be a scofflaw. Longtime TV director Rodman Flender (Ugly Betty) captures both O'Brien's spontaneous humor in his standup comic tour around the United States, but also his rage. O'Brien briefly replaced Jay Leno as host of NBC's The Tonight Show, but ratings for the show plummeted. So NBC dropped O'Brien, and O'Brien got his revenge by selling out shows in 32 cities, featuring equal parts standup, monologue, and screed against NBC. "If there's ever been a time in my life when I could say 'the hell with it,' it would be now," O'Brien says early in the film, setting up his rage as well as finding a pretty good outlet for it. Those who wonder if there's a healthy--or even unhealthy--dose of anger behind most standup comics will see the answer in a largely unguarded O'Brien, captured with raw honesty by Flender, in Conan O'Brien Can't Stop. O'Brien is also joined at various points of the tour by Jim Carrey, Andy R! ichter, Steve Kroft of 60 Minutes (who gets an earful),! Eddie V edder, and others. And O'Brien does manage to be pretty funny, mostly in off-the cuff moments. But Conan O'Brien Can't Stop is notable mostly for O'Brien's willingness to be shown as the pot lid is starting to blow off the boiling pan. And that makes for incredibly gripping viewing. --A.T.
